Budgeting

Budgeting is an important skill when you move out of home. You must consider your various costs and weigh them against your income. You should obviously not spend more than you are losing, unless you are able to make up that money in other ways, such as extra work over the holidays. It is also helpful to have a surplus which you can put to either savings or use for luxuries, such as eating out. Costs you need to start consider include:
  • Accomodation
  • Food
  • Car (petrol, registration, repairs)
  • Public transport costs
  • Electricity
  • Water
  • Internet
  • Home and mobile phones
  • Gifts
